This product is for everyone who wants to help by planting (additional) trees and contributing to global awareness but doesn't need a bracelet.
WHAT HAPPENED? Australia is home to a huge variety of unique plants and animals, with over 80% of native species not found anywhere else. The southern island of Tasmania is one of the last places that many of Australia’s threatened native species can thrive. However, centuries of farming in the Tasmanian midlands have depleted habitats and reduced biodiversity. With fewer places to find shelter and food, some of Australia’s endangered endemic species – including the iconic Tasmanian Devil – are at further risk. Planting trees with this project will protect Tasmania’s biodiversity while stimulating tourism, creating jobs and revitalizing local farming.
THE IMPORTANCE The Australian forests are vital for our life. It is not only home to millions of species but as well protects soil from erosion, produces oxygen, stores carbon dioxide and helps to control the climate. It's also vital for us to live as it provides the foundation of many medicines and purifies the air we breathe.
YOUR IMPACT By purchasing the 4Australia Certificate, you will fund the planting of 4 trees in the Australian Forests. By that, you will protect the Australien Forests from further deforestation. It also symbolizes your support of our global movement that supports the preservation of the forests and protects the animals and plant species.
WHAT YOU GET By joining our movement you will get the 4Australia Certificate personalized with your name and number of trees you have chosen to plant. Also, we will keep you updated with photos and information provided by our reforestation partners from time to time.
HOW IT WORKS Depending on the project, our partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the soil. Planting typically happens in the rainy season when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival. Once all the trees are in the ground we send out a report highlighting the impact of your trees. We will be sure to include plenty of pictures of the newly planted section of forest!
FOUR STEPS OF REFORESTATION
WHY PLANT TREES?
#1 PROTECT ENDANGERED SPECIES Tasmania is Australia’s last refuge for animals that are now virtually extinct on the mainland, including the Tasmanian Devil, Eastern Bettong, Eastern QuolI and Eastern Barred Bandicoot.
#2 ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY
Our partners are work closely with landholders and the community to integrate ecological outcomes into productive farming landscapes, and create new jobs in the rural Tasmanian economy.
#3PRESERVE NATIVE TREES
Tasmania is blessed with beautiful, diverse forests, with trees covering two-thirds of the state. By planting native species in degraded areas, we can support this unique and fragile ecosystem.
